My wife and I started regularly volunteering. We help walk and socialize with the dogs. We’ve been several times now. We’ve walked probably 3/4 of the dogs there so far. And have met all of them. Not a bad one in the bunch. Sometimes they’re excited when they’re in their kennel, once you go to walk one every one of them has been calm or happy and quiet and just wanted to hang out or play fetch. We can’t own a dog right now with mine and my wife’s living situation but I’d be happy to own any of these lovely dogs. The staff are extremely friendly and care a lot for these animals. I would recommend people not pass up an opportunity to visit, if not bring home one of these lovely animals.

Someone picked up my dog and took it to the shelter. I don’t have facebook and that’s the only place they advertise the pets that come in. My neighbor saw they had my dog and I went in for it and they wouldn’t let me have it back. I filled out the application and everything but they gave it to someone else even thought they knew it was my dog. I would not deal with this place at all. It’s run by a man named Michael that’s missing practical common sense. My child loved our dog to death and was so heartbroken we couldn’t have it back.

Got our boy, Clyde, from here about five years ago. Was a smooth and speedy process to have him. Couldn't of asked for a more amazing shelter. 🥰🥰

Oh my gosh! I went to this shelter after seeing a couple of their dogs on Petfinder. I took my dog, who was very depressed since moving down here and away from all of her friends. Our dog, Sophie, is a hound and we wanted a dog matching her energy, size and temperament. When we arrived we were greeted my Michael. He was so friendly, and truly cared about the animals. He told us that he had a hound that we hadn't known about. I was hesitant, but agreed to see her.

I was just about to give up on my search, because I had been all over TN and KY looking for our fur baby and not had any luck. So I told Michael to bring her out.

Her name was Clementine, she was brought in as a stray, and SHE WAS THE ONE! We took one look at her and we knew! We let her and Sophie meet and it was an instant connection.

Clementine, now Olive, is an absolute Godsend! She has gotten Soohie out of her depression and she is an amazing fit for our family.

Michael, thank you for your dedication to the animals, and ypur kindness to us. You were amazing to work with and made the process much less painful. You helped complete our family.

If you are thinking of adopting, Michael was great and I highly recommend this shelter!

Approximately 2 weeks ago my family attempted to adopt a couple cats. The initial meeting of staff and selection of cats went well. I was instructed on which cats absolutely had to be alone and such. I was instructed that one of the cats that I had chosen started life at the shelter aggressive but had calmed down just a bit and that she doesn’t get along well with a lot of cats but a few she may. There were two cats I had chosen with both having qualities I was looking for the other was caged next to her. The worker accepted my application for the two and said I should hear back in a few days. A few days later my wife and son went to check on the process and see the cats. The worker that day was not helpful nor wanted them handling the cats. Again I called back at day 7 with no luck in process. I called again on day 8 and was told I would receive a call back by the director that day. The director failed to call me till the next day stating that she was sorry and would accept responsibility for not contacting me long ago. She has denied the application. After I submitted a review of constructive criticism of my experience with the process and her on the posting of the cats adoption she replied very unprofessional along with name calling. All of this could have had been avoided in the beginning by not taking application for the two cats together or with a timely decline of application. Rather than stringing it out for 2 weeks. Just to inform me that the cats are better off locked in cages there together better than at my spacious home in the country.

Not much of a selection of cats. No kittens at all. Employee said some of them are placed in PetSmart or Petco. So, maybe that would be a good place to look, also.
