I recently rented out the Solomon Calhoun community center, and the facility itself was not bad, but it was a severe lack of communication which caused my rental to be a disaster. The employees at the facility failed to let me know that there was a full-blown Little League tournament there which caused the parking lots to be completely full. The parking lot was so full that they had trucks and cars parked on the grass from the Little League but yet it was unable for us to do the same and said it was unlawful. There seems to be a double standard. Therefore our event was a total bust because they did not communicate that to us. I feel there was great negligence on the part of the community center. Beware if you have an event that requires people there. Make sure you get all the information in writing . I even asked about the games, they did not give it to me. I’m extremely disappointed in the venue. I DO NOT recommend it to others.

Decent pool for the most part. But the lifeguards need to abide by the pool hours reflected on the website. I was approached today by a lifeguard stating the pool closed at 1pm. The website clearly says it closes at 2pm. So, lifeguards are either making up their own hours or the pools new hours of operation need to be updated on the website. I run a tight schedule everyday and don’t have time to go back and forth because someone isn’t doing their job correctly. This needs to be fixed.

Ms. Megan the swim lessons instructor did an amazing job with swim lessons for our young kiddo! She made it fun and really helped our child make a ton of progress. Mr. Steven (another swim instructor) did one of the lessons, and he was awesome also! We highly recommend this center and these instructors.

Big community center with a large gym and several smaller community rooms. Parking situation is frustrating - most spaces are quite far from the building.

I have to preface this by saying I live in the city and don't really want to ""::** where I eat (again), but, having had my first swim in the lane pool at Calhoun, I feel the need to leave a review.

I have NEVER swam in a pool with so much CHLORINE as today's visit to Calhoun pool.

It was a pleasant experience all around otherwise!

7 hours, 2 showers and a dip in the ocean later, and my fingers and body still REEK of Chlorine.
