The best way to see this park is to hop on a bike or drive. I stopped at Stop 1, and it has a parking area, a shelter with historic signs, and a Sedgwick monument and a cannon. There are restrooms to the right and around the shelter, and it's pretty clean.

Well maintained national park. Has numerous historical markers, as well as a number of well defined unpaved trails. Paved roads are also used for hikers, bikers, or touring via vehicle. Public restrooms located at the entrance, accessible until 5PM. Home to whitetail deer, most prominent animals that can be observed at times, besides all types of birds or insects. Free entrance and the unmanned visitor pavilion has park literature.

Lovely piece of well-preserved Civil War history. I love to come here to walk or run. There are several different trails around the park, and tidbits about the war in that area and the houses that were there before the war. At the entrance there's a place to sit and read about the battles that took place in the area and bathrooms, which are open from 8am-5pm I believe. Overall, nice place if you want to learn more about the Civil War or to just go for a long walk. Also, I loved to come in the mornings during September. Great month for foggy sunrise pictures.

This is another of the battlefields excellently managed by the National Park Service. It is a very rewarding place to visit. If you visit the visitor center at Chancellorsville first, then you have the opportunity to talk to the friendly and knowledgeable people who run the place, and to pick up information about Spotsylvania as well as Chancellorsville. Then set out on your tour. The Muleshoe Salient is the most important of the places to visit. Bring knowledge (whether old or recently gained) and imagination and you will be richly rewarded.

It's profoundly historic, and inside, fairly undisturbed. The trails thru the woods, and the old earthworks help you forget how close modern life is. The wildlife there is wonderful, and it's incredibly peaceful.

A brutal part of the Civil War. Part of Grant' s push to Richmond and Lee's attempt to block. Allow at least 2 to 3 hours to tour. Excellent tour marked with stops along the way. Several places to walk down rubberized trails.
