It's a nice small town theater with two screens. The larger seating area is nicer than the smaller one. It's reasonably priced. They offer the ticket and a small popcorn and drink for only $9. The people who run it are always nice and polite. They occasionally have projector problems but they haven't been a big deal.

It's called the Temple Theater online because it's in the old masonic temple building but the marquee says Main Street Theater. They're the same place.

I want to start the review by saying that I am not associated with the cinema in any way. You may not believe that, but it's the truth. My husband and I just moved to Iowa about a month ago, and this was our first time going to a movie here in Iowa. We were going to go to Ottumwa but saw that Mt. Pleasant has a theater too, so we decided to try it out. We were very pleasantly surprised! The prices are great, and because of this it makes it easier to buy concessions without spending a lot. The popcorn was fresh, and the fountain drinks were also great and not watered down. The theater itself was really great, and they have reclining seats. The bathroom was super clean too. It was so clean I had the feeling that I was the first person to ever use it. We will definitely be going here from now on, and if I could give more than five stars I would! This is a gem of a movie theater! Everyone should check it out!

The theater looks great and is spotless. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and fun to talk to. And I love that they have Coke instead of Pepsi products. But I found the seats painful to sit in. They have no lumbar support at all. And the screens are small - even by today's local theater standards. So two stars for the great staff, and one for Coke products.

This has been my "hometown" theatre since growing up when it was Temple Twin, and I must say I LOVE the modern updates! Having the ticket counter and snacks together is a great convenience. They ALWAYS seem to be playing the first-run movies we want to see. The seats are just right - with the cup holders and arm rests that move up. Being able to enjoy an adult beverage from the balcony seating is a great perk. Even the bathrooms are nicely done and kept clean. The staff is always super helpful and friendly. The ticket and concession prices are just right - not cheap but not exorbitant like big-city theatres. In summary, this place is a small-town gem, and I encourage you to "shop local" and support them so we can continue to enjoy movies her decades into the future!

This was my first visit and I very much enjoyed the experience! Very friendly staff, super clean, comfy seats, and good movie choices. The candy service as we left was a really nice touch 👍 Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the theatre we were in smelled like cigarettes 😣 There probably isn't anything to be done about that, it's an old building, but it did affect my overall opinion.
