My fiancé and I are in town for a firefighter cert course and when looking around at the slim pickin’s here in Weed I decided to give Thai Lao a shot based off the reviews and looking for something with good protein, more gluten free friendly and veggies haha.

Let me first say we just came back from 3 weeks in Thailand in February and this little restaurant is some of the best thai we’ve found in Norcal yet! I’m sure they have the flavors turned down a notch for locals but we could hear/smell the wok in the back cooking my basil chicken and the mango sticky rice was delicious too. They make the thai iced coffee JUST right as well.

Don’t be uncertain if you look inside by the interior needing a little more cozy flare, the service is great and the food was awesome. Definitely recommend!!

We stayed in weed to visit Mt shasta, one night dinner we decided to go to Thai. I was good, we were last guest for them before closing. It looks like they closed their kitchen already. It took way too long to get the order. Soup was cold and tasteless, I ordered vegetarian glass noodles, it's basically tasteless too. Staff was very kind, food was not great. First time Thai didn't work for me there..

The flavor for my pad ce ew was very good and has a bit of sweetness in it. I really enjoyed it but they charged 1.79 for crushed peanuts without telling me. The server was very enthusiastic and had great service. I believe the broccoli in my pad ce ew had gone bad due to it's sour taste contrasting the sauce. The pho was pretty good and the jasmine tea was very aromatic. The chicken dumplings were delicious. I would also like to say that this place is friendly to those with service animals.

My husband and daughter went to try out the new Thai and Lao Cafe on the second night of opening (soft open) and we were extremely impressed ! The food was so fresh and the vegetables were so flavorful and so fresh ! In every bite you could taste the flavor of everything !
I am so excited for when the staff are over the nervousness of new beginnings as it’s a very stressful start for them with everything that comes with opening a brand new business ! They are amazing people and doing so well already I can only imagine how great of a place this will become as they get comfortable and everything runs smoothly !
We will definitely be back to try more of their dishes
