The experience at The Dog Wizard is incredible! Dog agility class has been an absolute blast! My dogs get so excited when we pull into the parking lot! Dog agility has been such a fun way to strengthen the relationship with my pups and they are always wiped out after each class! Jill is an amazing teacher and a wealth of knowledge. Every single trainer there is fantastic! I highly recommend the dog agility class if you want to have fun with your pup, learn a new skill, and have a happy, fulfilled, and tired pup!

The Dog Wizard Louisville has the best dog people around. They have helped me to train two dogs of mine - one seven years ago, and then we came back to them again when we got a puppy this past year. Recently we've also started taking agility classes with Jill that have been SO much fun! My dog has learned so much in the first intro class, and I've already signed up for two more follow up classes. They are fun, judgement free, and a great time for all kinds of dogs! Jill's classes on rally and obedience seem great too and I would highly recommend her if you're looking to try out new activities with your dog!

We recently completed our first dog agility course focused on CPE speedway! We had a great time! We learned lots and really got a good understanding of the fundamentals to set us up for success with all different courses! My dog loved it! The class was set up for success with all different types of dogs and their needs! I would highly recommend Jill and the agility courses being offered with Louisville Dog Wizard!

I can’t say enough about what Dog Wizard did for our Leroy boy. Leroy was a stray-rescue who spent 16 months in the local shelter before we found him. He’s a 75lb pit mix, so it was important to me that I have the tools to help him be his best self, and so that others were safe as well as him. We did the Private Freedom training, which is weekly private lessons. Our trainer, Destiny, was just awesome. She adjusted the training to fit what I was comfortable with (no prong collars) and let us give it the ole college try with no judgement. We made some progress after a handful of weeks, but were still having issues with him not fully listening, slipping his collar and reacting to other dogs. Destiny regularly “problem-solved” his behavior and made adjustments to help Leroy progress. She talked me through my hesitations with the prong collar and the proper way to use it for training. With the Private Freedom course, we had sessions in the training facility, in my home as well as out in public spaces. Destiny added in lessons at the end of the program to make sure Leroy was in a good spot and I was satisfied with Leroy’s progress.

Listen, I just took this dog-reactive hound to the park on the first warm day of the year and it was crawling with dogs. This dog did not fly off the handle ONCE. Ah, what a relief it is to be able to go out in public with him!

But the course wasn’t just leash work. Once the basic skills were learned on a leash, we transitioned them to the e-collar. Another tool that I wasn’t comfortable with, but again Destiny walked me through it. She had me try it out on myself and I couldn’t even feel the pulse until level 9. We keep Leroy on a 4/5. And guess what? I’ve never had a dog with a better recall. I can call him away from the window when he’s barking at a dog on the sidewalk and guess who shows up? Leroy! To be obedient off-leash is a dream!

The lessons may be over but the work continues. He’s not perfect by any stretch. However, being involved in Leroy’s training has helped build our bond (for a dog that was pretty detached initially), and has given me the tools to continue with his training. The cost was hard to swallow, but I would absolutely do it again.

Thank you Dog Wizard, and an especially big thank you to Destiny!! I highly recommend the Private Freedom program!

My Dog Jet, a terrier/lab mix is lovable but a handful. My wife calls her a terridor for good reason. Really bad manners and challenging to walk and not have her jump up on people. I took Jet to the Dog Wizard and Destiny did an amazing job training her. Now walks are fun and as I write an electrician is doing some wiring and Jet is laying on her bed quietly watching him but is being great and staying in place. What a change. Destiny is a fantastic trainer! Highly recommend

I highly recommend The Dog Wizard. They did a thorough job of explaining what I was to expect before we got started. They kept me up to date with videos and commentary on my dogs progress and what was being done. When my dogs initial two weeks was up I was given a one on one tutorial on how to continue my dogs progress with plenty of time for questions. I felt listen to and understood. I especially want to recognize my dogs trainer Scotty. Scotty is the best!

I had my dog trained with them years ago and finally got the nerve to post about it. To say i’m appalled is an understatement. I trusted them with my dog for originally 2 weeks. She was muzzle trained before going to them because she had a history of dog aggression. I told them she needed to be on her prescription diet (at the time purina EN) and that withholding food was not an option for her due to her GI issues. Her trainer, Greg, assured me that he would feed her the dry food normally and let me know if anything was an issue and I would bring wet food. I received multiple pictures of my dog and for the most part they looked normal. Towards the end of her two weeks he let me know that she would benefit from another week and that she was really responding well to her training and not having any problems. I paid for the additional week and the last picture I received was the first one attached of her looking up at the camera. I wasn’t looking for something wrong so I didn’t even pay attention to how small she looked. My dog at the time averaged 55-60lbs. The second picture attached is how my dog was returned to me. I get that things happen. I get sometimes dogs don’t want to eat when they are in new environments. I get that dogs lose weight at training. But for this to happen and to not tell me it was happening before I got her (and to act like nothing was wrong when you dropped her off) is unacceptable. I understand that this trainer is no longer in the Louisville area, and it’s been years since, but I still am baffled by the negligence. I would NEVER, and even go out of my way not to recommend this company again.
