After reserving a table about a week out and driving over an hour to get there, was very delighted with the food and experience at The Elephant. This is the best fine dining establishment outside of Wichita, KC, or Denver in the region. Cocktails are top notch, everything was quite unique, even some wine selections from Kansas.

I am always nervous about ordering steak in a restaurant due to being generally disappointed in the result. Got the bison ribeye and it was amazing. Buttery notes, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The Mrs had chicken parm with a creamy pesto risotto that was out of this world.

For the finale we opted for the smores dessert. It is a puff pastry with chocolate and marshmallow served on a smoked cedar plank with ice cream and chocolate sauce. For added effect, it is served flambeed at the table.

Can't wait to go back, there are endless options for any palate on the menu that sound equally delicious. 10/10, highly recommend. Could this be the first possible Michelin star restaurant in Kansas?

A great selection of meal, and perfect quality. The service was very good, the atmosphere was splendid. I would highly recommend this place.

Had a great night here. Beautiful place with a great atmosphere. We had brewhouse spicy avocado egg rolls for an appetizer, which were creamy and absolutely devine. I had the filet mignon, which was perfectly cooked medium rare and had a rich buttery taste and was extremely tender with a delicious baked potato mash and green beans. My girlfriend had the keto steak tacos that were delicious, but the steak was very chewy. We had a cheesecake drizzled in caramel, which was delicious, and tableside smores, which was lit ablaze upon placement on our table that was very rich and decadent. They had a few beers from around kansas (craft brews) and a myriad of mixed drinks (the italian expresso martini was my girlfriends favorite). I highly recommend this place for an elegant dinner in the boonies.

The first date my boyfriend and I went on was to The Elephant! Since then we have made the tradition of treating ourselves every Valentine's Day and our anniversary every July. Such a rare gem in Western KS! By far one of the BEST places we have ever been to eat! The atmosphere, food, and drinks are all top-notch! We try to change our order every time we visit, and each time we are impressed. The rum punch and tajin pina colada are a must-try!

Not at all what I expected in Hoxie, KS. Excellent food, clean restaurant, friendly staff, and did I say excellent food? Everything on the menu tastes perfect, nothing out of place, no overpowering flavours. Simple things like the arugula side salad is one of the best tasting dishes ever. Sandwiches are great, steaks are great. I would not hesitate to eat there and look forward to Hoxie solely for The Elephant!

Everything about The Elephant is perfect, in my opinion! From the atmosphere, to the wait staff, to the food and cocktails.. even the bathrooms are impeccable!! Everything we've tried on the menu has been wonderful and well worth every price point depending on our budget for the day or night! Cocktails are stunning and delicious... and very well thought through. You won't go wrong with just about anything at The Elephant!!

We had a 7:30 dinner reservation at The Elephant in Hoxie, KS on Saturday May 18th. We have been here a number of times. WE LIKE THIS PLACE. We had learned earlier in the day that America’s Best Steaks in Bogue, KS will be closing permanently at the end of May. A dagger to our carnivorous hearts!! We have a farm house just North of Bogue and we have become quite fond of their delectable dry aged beef. We decided to order Ribeyes at the Elephant as they are supplied locally from America’s Best Steaks. We started our night with a Sazerac. This is perhaps the oldest cocktail in the USA. The Elephant makes a formidable rendition of this classic cocktail. Top shelf rye whiskey, absinthe, Peychaud’s bitters, & a touch of honey. Delicious. Everyone should add this to their list of adult beverages. Our ribeyes were served medium rare as ordered. Perfectly grilled asparagus, house fries for me, creamed chantilly potatoes for my wife. A bottle of Cabernet Franc accompanied the meal.

This is where I must log a heart-felt concern. The ribeyes we received did not reflect the quality of America’s Best Steaks dry aged beef. Something wasn’t right. We had talked to the proprietor of ABS’s earlier in the day. He had very limited supply left (KC strips, 8 oz filet mignon, & some ribeyes. We have consumed a good many of these dry aged steaks and they have a distinctive degree of excellence. The steaks we received this past weekend at the Elephant were good, but they did not have the Lucious marbling, tenderness, & flavor we are accustomed to. I did not feel the product we received was worthy of the $55 price tag. I do hope that the Elephant can find a suitable substitute for America’s Best Steaks dry-aged beef.

Our desert was truly excellent. A cheesecake with raspberry topping & a hickory nut crust. Very, very tasty. Our waitress was great. The host greeted us and thanked us for our return visit. We will return again. The Elephant is a gem of a restaurant and a must visit if you are anywhere near Hoxie or cruising through NW KS on I70.

Positively the best kept secret of Kansas!! Great hospitality, menu that impresses, drinks galore!! So many innovative menu items, yet they somehow make you feel like home! This establishment was recommended to me by some colleagues and I have been here multiple times on my business trip already. I'll be telling the world about this place because it's just amazing!! Bravo!
