I had the pleasure of celebrating my daughter’s college graduation in this beautiful venue. Her accomplishment was very special to me and therefore I wanted to celebrate it in a special place. Everything turned out amazing and was so beautiful! The venue is stunning! The staff was so courteous and Julia she was so lovely and she shared her thoughts with me and gave me such useful ideas that helped me make this a memorable day for my daughter, our family and friends!

Yesterday, I helped decorate and also attended a wedding with about 120 guests at this venue. Everything about the wedding was joyful, fun, and beautiful—except this venue.

Overall, the vendors and I did not have a great experience during set up. Some staff were helpful. Some were unfriendly and unwilling to make small changes in order to achieve the bride’s vision, going so far as to snap at the photographer that their decor should not be removed or moved. So, I guess you should only book this venue if you love every single piece of artwork in the building when you tour. While I understand the owner’s position of wanting to preserve and protect the building, I do think they take it too far. If you know you will be hosting weddings, leave the walls mostly bare so the bride and groom can choose exactly how they want their wedding day to look.

This venue is also small and definitely not able to accommodate more than 60-70 people. Do not believe them when they tell you otherwise. Guests were basically sitting in each others laps for the ceremony and trying to navigate through the tables to take a seat for the dinner was near impossible, with a large portion of the tables in the closed upstairs, unable to interact with the bride and groom or other guests. Downstairs, tables were no more than 2 feet away from each other in most places. If you have any guests in wheelchairs, they will have a very difficult time moving around the building.

On top of being uncomfortable, I’d also posit that using the upstairs for anything other than a getting ready suite for the bride is borderline unsafe. This building is historical and there is a stair at the top, separated from the rest of the staircase, that is easily missed. I nearly fell down the whole staircase during set up because it is not marked with a sign or high visibility tape. I am not a clumsy person by nature and was able to catch myself but someone is eventually going to get hurt there.

As an Oldham county native and business owner myself, I hate writing a negative review of a local small business but I feel that bride’s and their families should be informed before spending thousands.

The venue and location are gorgeous, there is no doubt about that. But I’d think twice before attending another wedding at this venue. It is more appropriate for grad parties, small corporate events, luncheons, bridal/baby showers, intimate elopements, or birthday parties.

I apologize that you found my review to be irresponsible. I frequently ask my customers for honest feedback, including criticism, in order to improve their experience as a customer. I have learned a lot from their honesty and am grateful for their candor.

As far as complaints being directed to my friends, the family is aware of and approves of this review.

My review was not meant to harm you but to inform brides and their families so they can make an educated choice. I do hope that you are successful in all of your endeavors.

What a beautiful place I live in Oldham county and never knew of this place. I would recommend it highly for any occasion.

We had our wedding and reception here in February. The place itself is very pretty but if I could go back in time I’d never choose this venue. I actually had a girlfriend warn me about not having my reception there but the owner convinced me otherwise as she spoke of how long she’s been in the business. I wish I would’ve heeded my friends advice. The owner definitely over promises and under delivers. Multiple things we had discussed, had in writing and simply weren’t done. I told her a few days after our wedding, I wished her communication with myself and my fiancé was better on the day of our wedding because it caused issues, she then blamed on us. They shouldn’t have more than 60 or 70 people at their events because they simply can’t handle the 116 we had. The reception was a disaster and a lot of our guests left before the food was even available because it was so unorganized and over crowded. I have more details and the communication I had with her after the wedding if you want to reach out.

My friend had a wedding there. The owner was the sweetest lady and helped us put our flowers on our vests. We have no idea what we were doing lol. She was very informative and actually took the time to listen to us, and the bride and groom.
It is a beautiful venue and awesome scenery outside. Located in an historic area when a train drives through. The building is sound proof so you will never hear it. Just pretty awesome to see!

We had the privilege of having our wedding at this venue and it was everything I could have dreamed of! Julia was able to create the best night of our lives and we will forever be thankful! I would recommend this venue to EVERYONE.
