Stopped at the Historic Wolfs Inn on our way to Colorado. After reading other reviews and hearing about it, we decided it would be a great midway point to stop. We arrived on a Sunday late afternoon. After getting settled in Amanda gave us a wonderful historical/ghostly tour of the hotel, and the underground tunnels that run beneath the sidewalk streets. We were so glad that we decided to stay there. Our room was comfortable and clean. The only downfall is, there is not many restaurants in the area but You do have access to the upstairs kitchen. Which was very nice. And they did provide continental breakfast in the morning. (bagels, toast, yogurt, etc.. )

What a cool place to visit! The hotel itself is quaint, and rooms are clean and comfortable, with lots of interesting, old-timey touches and a few discreet modern amenities for comfort. There's a shared hospitality area generously stocked with snacks, beverages, and breakfast items, plus a fridge and microwave. I LOVED the tours--I'm not a big history buff, but both the history and the paranormal tours were fascinating and fun! Amanda is very knowledgeable about the hotel and its past and kept us entertained with cool stories and anecdotes. Definitely worth doing again!

I went on the underground tunnel tour and it was amazing! I loved being able to see all the old artifacts and learn about the history involved. Definitely recommend.

The tour of this hotel and the underground tunnels were extremely awesome and fascinating. The tour guides were very entertaining and presented the place very well. This place is absolutely worth a visit to experience in person. The hotel is an active hotel with very cool rooms and they host many large events all year around. Planning on returning here in the future to attend some of their events.

This place was amazing! The owner Chris was so extremely nice and so accommodating. We came here for my daughter's 16th birthday as she wanted to go to a haunted hotel. The rooms were so unique and perfect for our weekend trip. We did the underground tunnel tour. Our tour guide Joe did such a good job and was a great story teller. You could tell he really knew the history and enjoyed sharing that with our group. Same with Chris and his part in the tour under the hotel. We also took advantage of some axe throwing in Great Bend and the escape room in Lyons that Chris also owns. We had a lot of fun with all the experiences that we got to have this weekend. Thank you to the staff and the owner for making this weekend so successful and meaningful for us. If we are ever our that way again, we would definitely be stopping back in. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Made reservations 2 months in advance to attend the Sunday lunch since it only happens every 3rd Sunday and I wanted to make sure I did not miss out while I was in town. It was amazing! Everything from the bread to the sides was homemade and absolutely delicious. Everyone was very attentive and helped each other out, even if it wasn't their table. Greyson did a great job serving us! Had to save some room for their homemade dessert and took leftovers home. Definitely check it out the next time this event becomed available. Prices are good and details can be found on their website so you can plan before you go.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few days last month, and I loved it. The tunnel tour gives a unique glimpse at history that has been all but forgotten in modern times, and the guide is an excellent storyteller. For those intrigued by such matters, I would also highly recommend the paranormal tour, and the lady who investigates here has quite a few intriguing tales to share. The escape room is definitely challenging, and the hotel décor gives one the impression of Victorian times, much like walking through a historical museum with artifacts from the turn of the century. Although the regular rooms are indeed comfortable, I would also recommend the suite if you feel like splurging. In some hotels, "suite" simply means "larger room than most," but here, it means "your own apartment." There's a spacious living room attached to the bedroom, which is made all the more interesting by the circular bed, and just across the hall is your own private kitchen. For guests in the other rooms, there's access to a living room area that reminded me so very much of the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London, and the chicken and covered wagon décor in the kitchen give it a homey, cozy feeling and celebrate Midwestern farming communities. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and if I ever get the chance to visit Ellinwood again, I will definitely be booking another room. P.S. You should also book their tour of the historic jail in Lyons if you get the chance. The guide has enough entertaining stories about former inmates' escape attempts to make a movie.

Great place to stay and your the underground tunnels. Let ved our stay and plan to return soon. Going to do the paranormal tour as well.
