The King's Academy (TKA) is a highly respected, Christian college-preparatory School in Sunnyvale CA. As a parent of a 6th-student who attends TKA, I really appreciate how the teachers and administrators have proper biblical standard and boundaries, but discipline is always handled in a confidential, loving and professional way. They also encourage all the students to have fun, but everyone knows where the boundaries are.

The teaching is so incredibly sensitive to the learning needs of every student. All the teachers manage to gear their instruction to individual students so well that sometimes I think that my son is getting a private tutor in terms of how well the teachers accommodate his learning style The only difference between home-schooling and TKA is that my son is having a blast with his friends and in all the sports, clubs and activities he's engaged in.

The school says on its web site that it takes having fun seriously. It's true. The faculty, administration and parent volunteers spend a lot of time and effort on school-wide activities in home groups, chapels, theater and broadcast productions, student retreats, clubs, lunches with teachers, and sports and after-school events. It seems like every week there are three or four fun and interesting things going on at the school.

Because TKA gives the students so many fun events and activities, it puts the students and administration on the same side: everyone wants the students to work hard and have fun at the same time. Consequently, there are almost no shenanigans happening whereby the students who are starved for fun and fellowship feel they have to break any rules or go against the staff or faculty to kill boredom or monotony.

Besides being a parent of a TKA student, I'm also a substitute teacher at TKA. Therefore, I know the school from an insider's perspective. I see firsthand how hard the faculty and staff cater to the academic and spiritual needs of the student body. TKA treats every student like he or she is: a fearfully and wonderfully made individual created in the likeness of God with incredible potential to bless themselves, their family, their community, and the world with their unique God-given talent and abilities.

TKA's sole mission is to develop their students to their full potential in Christ. And they are very successful in doing that. TKA's dedicated Spiritual Life staff is one of the linchpins for making this happen. The love and attention given to the student body is exhibited by the real feeling of warmth and fellowship everyone at the school has for each other.

I pay full tuition for my son to go to TKA, and I feel that he and I are getting more than our money's worth. The academics are fantastic, and there's so much going on. The activities and events are endless. And people get along very well here. The community is one body in Christ that exhibits all the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

TKA. What a blessing!

A place with dedicated, caring teachers and administrators. It is a place where your child feels safe to try new things and thrive. I have been most impressed with the student body, whom I spent a week building houses in Mexico with. No complaining, hard working, and trying to help despite having to learn new skills. The environment is very positive. Both my kids developed into excellent writers in part thanks to AP language and composition and AP World History. I appreciate that the code of conduct is enforced. Yes, kids who violate it do get expelled... which means fewer bad influences and fewer bullies. I can only speak about my own experience. I hope it is as good for everyone else. I am very satisfied with this school.

This is the best school I have ever been to. It's full of good people which includes both the students and the teachers. I can't believe that someone would make an email with a name very similar to mine just to attack the school. I love the school I go to and the people that go there are great. If you are looking for a school for your child, this is definitely the school you would want them in.

Amazing. Caring. Community. Fun. Encouraging. Personal. Impactful. These are the words that come to mind when I think of The Kings Academy. My 3 daughters currently attend this school and this is their second year at TKA. I have seriously been blown away by this school. We live in one of the best school districts in the Bay Area but this school is overwhelming more impressive by leaps and bounds. The staff and teachers care about my children in and outside of the classroom. Many of them show up for their athletic games, performances and even personal events outside of school. They really care about who they are becoming as a person, not just as a student. The families are super involved and really want the best for their kids in terms of community and culture. I truly appreciate that my daughters are forming their own relationship with Christ and what that means to them in their lives. They've learned to stand up for others in their school, expect more from themselves in terms of personal character and encouraging others to live their best lives. They have some of the best mission service trips around the world that I've ever seen and the students really learn a lot about service, gratitude and how they can make an impact on others. The academics is challenging but it's not cut throat like other schools. There's no pressure to be ALL AP all the time. They encourage following your passion and pushing yourself in those areas but not because you have to. The school is a perfect size, not too big, not too small. They offer all the sport teams, visual performing arts and have an amazing marching band and robotics team. I am amazed that they can do all this on what I consider a very reasonable tuition by Bay Area standards. I CANNOT recommend this school enough! One of my comments to others when I talk about TKA is "I feel like we've won the lottery to be able to attend this school". It's THAT good!

We have kids in both middle school and high school. The King's Academy is a Christian school that strongly promotes academic excellence, enrichment through visual and performing arts and exceptional athletic achievement. The school has brought together a superb team of expert educators, skilled instructors and extraordinary coaches and leadership dedicated to the growth of Christ-centered students. We encourage interested parents and students to schedule a visit and apply as early as possible because of the high demand for admission.

Great school if you're looking for a Christian environment just know that that also comes with very judgmental students. From my experience, long tenured staff were phenomenal christian role models, but the new staff that were getting hired were just mediocre teachers. After you get passed the religion, it's a mediocre school that's in a HUUGEE bubble which makes adjusting to a secular world hard for a lotta graduates.
