My sisters, mom, and I had a blast! The massage was fantastic. Dinner was delicious and the staff really made us feel like we like we were the only people in the place! We will definitely be coming back. The rooms are outdated but we weren't expecting an extravagant hotel. It is very rustic could probably use some updates but we loved it!

Very interesting little place, tucked away about a mile off the freeway in a small town. It's a health spa from a bygone era, and it's exactly what you'd expect. We only got a room, so that's all I can speak to, but even though it was not perfectly maintained and restored, it was clean and comfortable and everything worked well. It was a nice place to spend the night at a very good rate. If you like history or just something unique and different, I'd definitely recommend this place. What it lacks in modernity and perfection it more than makes up for in character and atmosphere.

I love this place. The quiet. The solitude and the hospitality is what us busy suburbanites and city-dwellers need. The new owners Michael and Lena Frenkel are fabulous. They appreciate the historical significance of this 150 year hotel and have a vision for making some improvements while keeping the Victorian charm alive and well. Not to mention the health benefits of these natural spring waters.

This rating is for a room in this historic old hotel.
The bed is worn out and swaybacked. A picture is attached. It’s a cheap mattress and my guess is that was overdue for replacement 20 or 30 years ago. So replace it already.
We were charged $105 for the privilege of trying to sleep on it. It is a swaybacked thing - like trying to sleep in a hammock
The room itself is large enough. It looks clean.
This is an historic place with hot springs bath and a restaurant.
It has an average 4.2 rating.
That can’t be for the rooms though.
We tried it because it was off the freeway - which we like - and we had been on the road for 12 hours. We hoped for a good nights rest in a quaint old hotel.
Well, at least it’s quaint.

Update: I actually did sleep well after driving for 12 hours towing a trailer. So did my wife.
A good thing about this place is its distance from the freeway.
No noise reached us.
So, the swaybacked bed did not ruin our rest.
It did, however, prevent us from trying the restaurant. We figured it would be similarly careless of something basic to good service.

Incredible! This is a truly lovely place to stay, and the staff is amazing! I highly recommend getting a bath or two while you’re here, and you’ll definitely want to try the Ruben sandwich from the restaurant. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. This is definitely something I plan to do again soon!

It’s a shame that they have let thi property deteriorate. Have been going here for over 30 years. Will not be back. Mold all over. Dirty carpeting in the restaurant, water in the mineral tubs was not hot. Massage was awful. Good food in the restaurant though. Very disappointed. We will not be back.

Went this past weekend for my 65th birthday. Hadn't been in a couple years. Sorry to say, I won't be back. Had a massage that was more a rub. Originally was a hour and they ended up 20 minutes totally disappointed. The mold in the massage area was just disgusting. Open ceiling with bird nest in it. Mineral bath was just ok. Water was Luke warm and when I went to add hot water it was the same. The cleanliness of the place was even more disgusting. Bathroom in the restaurant Hadn't been cleaned the whole time we were there. Poop on the toilets trash on the floor and roll of paper towels on th floor. Mattresses are probably as old as the place. My body hurts worse now then before I went to be pampered. Cigarette butts all over by the entrances. Noticed when employees weren't busy they were out smoking. The only pleasant part was the food. The food was great. Ate in the dining room 3 times. So many things that could be done at no extra cost to improve cleanliness. Open your eyes. Place is falling down around you. Sorry, won't be back.

I wanted to like the hotel because I had booked for two nights and for massages the next day but this is what ended up happening. I Was only refunded $65 when my bill was $351 for the two nights and we only stayed one night. ( we did not stay for our massages or mineral baths as we thought they would be as run down and disgusting as the rest of the hotel and to just save money as we had already paid so much for horrible accommodations)

Was called the morning of my stay to be told that the room I had reserved was no longer available. The room had water coming in from the ceiling because of all the rain. The first room that they tried to give us (76) smelled strongly of cigarettes. There were mold stains on the ceiling and dead roaches on the floor. The second room they gave us (71) smelled better but still mold in the bathroom, and stains on the sheets. The bed and pillows were sooo uncomfortable that we ended up only staying one night. I’m so happy I didn’t see any bed bugs as other people have stated but I also didn’t look super hard. Everything we brought with us went straight into the wash when we got home.

The “heated” pool felt nice but was obviously falling apart along with the rest of the hotel. There were buckets to catch the rain water coming from the ceiling. Soft spots in the floor that felt like a heavier person could fall through (mind you this is on the second floor) wall paper coming off the walls. Stains on the carpet throughout and in the boiler room restaurant there were literal slug/snail trails all across the carpet. You would think with how much they rip people off with prices that they would actually fix the hotel up so people would want to come back again.

The food was good though, Brittany and Mason were the only saving grace of this hotel. Very kind and attentive while serving us dinner. We went to breakfast and there were three people working. Our food was good and so was the service but I felt bad for the other table being waited on. They brought out multiple wrong dishes but I could hear them say they didn’t care they just wanted to eat so they took food they didn’t even ask for.

In short I would never recommend anyone to come here and my wife and I will never be back.
