Adopted a kitten who was described as being very sweet. She had many behavioral issues not mentioned: biting, scratching, food aggression, peeing and pooping outside box. Two different vet techs asked me if she was feral.

Contacted This Is The Dog to let them know it wasn’t a good match. Instead of finding a local in-state rescue, I was made to bring her to a rescue an hour away in a different state which meant I needed to pay hundreds of dollars for a certificate of health for out of state travel. I was told I would be reimbursed for this.

Turns out the kitten had parasites, probably contracted from her bus ride up from Florida with all the other cats. I ended up having to hold on to her for an additional month because the foster they chose would not accept her with parasites. I paid hundreds of more dollars on several fecal samples, treatment, and another certificate of health because her first one expired.

Finally get her to the foster eventually. They reimbursed me the $350 that I originally spent on her adoption fee, and then a measly $50 towards her vet bills. I spent well over $700 on all things related to the certificate of health in order to honor the contract with this rescue and rehome her in the way that they requested.

I understand that they did not anticipate the parasite situation, but the $50 they sent didn’t cover anywhere near what the certificate would have cost originally. So either way, they lied about reimbursement.

Their ability to understand adopters and their already existing pets speaks volumes to their experience and how well they understand the animals in their care. This agency is amazing. They take excellent care of their kittens, match them perfectly with their new owners, and communicate thoroughly throughout the virtual adoption and transport process ... providing shelter and safety and love for kittens off the streets of South Florida and helping them find families in New England, where there is a shortage of kittens. My new baby girl is in the perfect home and she will help love us as much as we love her! She is so affectionate and the purr-fect companion? ... They will provide you with all the vet/medical records and a bag full of treats and toys to take home with them. I highly recommend anyone in New England looking for that special kitten to trust me when I say you will not be disappointed with this agency.

I would like to share with you the wonderful experience I had with This Is The Dog.
My family and I live in Massachusetts, and 1 month ago we decided to complete our family with the company of a kitten.
I applied to several shelters, some I didn't receive a response and others didn't accept my application because I had children.
Until I came across a photo of a beautiful kitten, who coincidentally was born in the same month as my youngest son's birthday, I decided to apply, and the next day I received an email from them saying that they had received the application and who would like to do the interview via video link.
That same night they called me and we met Valentina, who was sweet to my family, told us about our kitten, explained the adoption process and got to know our house. The other day it was foster Jeniffer's turn to call us to meet “Oyster”, once again we were very well treated, she was very attentive in introducing him to us and explained to us that she was his temporary foster and that Karen was his real foster would contact my family to answer any questions about the “Oyster”.
During this process I spoke to Valentina about my concerns about payment as I had already suffered a scam a few years ago, and she reassured me, foster Karen always updated me about our kitten, she gave me all the information about him and about transportation, In one of these messages I warned her that “Oyster” would call Charle and she affectionately informed us that she was already calling him Charle.
10 days passed (a long 10 days) and the day arrived to receive our Charle, during these days This Is The Dog always sent me emails, and there were messages and on the day of transport I was updated the whole day of his arrival.
We went to the agreed address which was in Salem - NH, the Van arrived with Charle and many other pets, all the owners waited anxiously, they delivered the pets, helping to make the safe passage of the animals to the transport boxes, always very friendly , attentive. We received a folder with Charle's documents, which had his health certificate, his vaccinations and identification.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, a very gentle process with people (volunteers) who love what they do and are willing to help everyone find the perfect animal for each family.
Thank you This Is The Dog for the excellent work and for helping me and my family have the best 4-legged companion, and a special thank you to Valentina, Jeniffer and Karen for being so kind and for the giant heart you have and care So good for these animals who need a home with lots of love.
I highly recommend This Is The Dog and I plan to adopt another kitten soon.
