We had a spectacular day with Turning Heads! They are a very professional and safety conscious company who deliver a wonderful and unique experience, while carefully tending to their dogs and teams. Our helicopter ride was beautiful and climbing up to the glacier was breathtaking! We landed at the dog camp and were greeted by an enthusiastic team of leaders and happy sled dogs. Our dogsled tour was in a pristine and vast portion of the glacier and we felt honored to be in such a magnificent place. Our leader talked to us about their dog care philosophies and really introduced us to many thoughtful concepts of operating sled dogs, with which we were not familiar. We had a blast and upon returning to camp we got to snuggle puppies! Ha, it doesn’t get any better!

Had a wonderful experience with this tour. The staff was wonderful, kind and knowledgeable. The dogs were all so sweet and energetic. You could tell that the humans and dogs love what they do. Getting to learn about the dogs, their training, racing and spend time with them and give them love is well worth the trip and your time.

We had an absolute blast on the glacier dog tour! Our trip was delayed due to rain for 2 days, but they fit us in for their last tour of the season. The helicopter ride itself was unbelievable, through the mountain pass and glacier and alpine lakes. It was really fun to run with the dogs, and the guides were very kind. We learned a lot and are glad that we had this experience!

So much fun! Turning Heads was such a fun adventure for our whole family! We had a beautiful helicopter ride over the valley and up to the glacier. On the glacier we had a dog sled ride with a great musher and awesome team of dogs. We got to meet the dogs and pet them on their running breaks. When we got back to camp we got to play with the dogs and even cuddle adorable puppies! The only negative was that my kids wanted to bring a sled dog home!

We did the Glacier dog sledding helicopter tour experience and it had all the components as advertised, but we felt the experience was pricey for what it was. There was a helicopter ride, but it was very short (~5 min to the glacier, then on the way back, they took us on a slight detour to see more of the mountain, ~10 min). We didn’t get much of a tour on the helicopter.

For the dogsledding part, the sleds are arranged 3 seats per sled and with upright seats, and a staff that will control the sled and dogs from behind. We booked as a couple and had a solo traveler join us who sat in the front the of the sled, so note to people booking as 2 that you may be joined by a stranger on the sled. The sledding itself was a short course around the glacier - we could see the whole course from where we landed. My main complaint is that we stopped every 5 minutes to pause, when it didn’t seem like we had to. The staff kept saying the dogs have a lot more energy to keep going. During the breaks, we would play with the dogs for 10 minutes or so to pass the time.

The dogs were very cute and friendly, and I genuinely enjoyed playing with them. It was also cool to be on a glacier. However, for the hefty price tag of $600 per person, we expected more time on the helicopter and actually dog sledding. That aside, staff was friendly and everything was timely.

We really enjoyed visiting Turning Heads kennel! It was informative and Miguel was great explaining everything. But the dogs were the best part. Enthusiastic, friendly and amazing workers. Plus puppies! We read the recommendation to wear our rain gear and we're glad we did because we didn't worry about big muddy paws and could really pet all the dogs.

What an experience! The scenery was amazing. All the staff were so accommodating. It was so much fun to meet the dogs and experience "mushing" up close? I'd highly recommend the experience!

Fabulous! Loved hearing about Travis and Sarah‘s experience running the Iditarod; meeting their dogs and learning about their care, feeding, personalities and training; having the opportunity to cuddle with some very cute puppies; and taking a tour with the dogs through the woods. Really fun, educational, and unique! They also run Seward Helicopter Tours which we took up to Godwin Glacier… Which was truly spectacular. Love their passion for their dogs!
