What an amazing night watching Kinky Boots at the Vam York Theater. Was I really still in Gainesville?!? It was our family's first time there. This amazingly talented cast rocked the house. And whoever put these costumes together needs to work on Broadway! Will be returning for season tickets.

Was I actually transported to NYC, watching a Broadway musical?! One might think so, as the plays and musical productions created here in the Van York Theater, more commonly known as The Gainesville Community Playhouse, are that professional and well done. Okay, so, back to reality…I was in Gainesville, FL, happily front row center, enjoying ‘Kinky Boots’. I bought my tickets in the car immediately after leaving ‘Clue’, it was that good, awesome, super (insert infinite superlatives here)!
I moved here last year from Orlando, where I regularly attended shows, and hands down I NEVER saw shows this good or got a front row ticket for $19. The theater is comfortable and fairly intimate, reinforcing the happy fact that you’re not crawling over 30 people to jam yourself into a tiny seat. So, I know you’re asking yourself, “Yes, but did you like the Vam York?” ?
Bottom line? Yes. YeS, YES!

Great local theater! Community theater did "Grease" last night. Wonderful production. Sonny played by Jacob Broskey was spectacular! He was so talented. And he brought tears of joy to my eyes! His singing, and acting, and facial expressions are amazingly good!

It was absolutely amazing. Have already planned another visit! Couldnt of been a better experience. Thank you! The show was phenomenal and I'm still talking about it. Beauty and the beast was done with grace! My next show will be Grease. The people that worked there were kind and very helpful. The place was clean and well kept...like I said, an overall wonderful experience!♡

Went to see The Little Mermaid for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the theatre, actors, set, etc. The place was clean and well staffed. The play itself was professional and very well executed. I loved every minute. Definitely recommend.

Show was great. However, Ms. Cohen was rude. Although her supervisor David was fantastic. Hopefully she will learn good customer service. If not for our interaction with her would easily have been a 5 star.
