Our Rambo got a cut that wouldn’t stop bleeding on the bottom of his paw. Dr. Hendrickson got us in right away and helped get it wrapped up and got his vaccines updated too. Our sweet boy was so scared but he was GREAT with him. Highly recommend. Thank you all for getting our boy in right away and helping him ❤️

I learned about Wayside about 13 years ago when my little Bichon swallowed a fishing hook loaded with a hot dog in a bizarre accident with my son on Memorial Day weekend. When I called my vet, I had at the time, they did not have an emergency number nor anyone on call. The recording said to take emergencies to Purdue .
That was an hour away and I was afraid I was going to lose my "Snuggles" so I looked in the phonebook and Wayside was the closest. I called and got a recording that said if this is an emergency, leave name and number and someone will return your call. Within 10-15 minutes, Dr. John called back and after explaining the situation, he told me to bring her in immediately. He even had to call in an assistant to sedate her while he removed the hook and all for a reasonable price.
We got very lucky that day. We got our dog taken care of and obtained a highly qualified and compassionate Vet. Now, my mom takes all her animals to Wayside too. I am very happy and appreciate Dr. John and the wonderful staff at Wayside for all their genuine care they give my animals. I highly recommend them.

They were able to diagnose the issue my little friend was having in regards to her inability to keep food down, prescribe gastro friendly food that she is tolerating well, and improve her quality of life so much! I have decided to continue her routine care with Wayside, the staff is friendly and easy to deal with, and I know my best friend. Bitsy will be getting the best care possible!

Excellent service for my puppy & dog. They've neutered my potbelly pig, did lab work for my goats and answered all sorts of questions over the phone.
They're about a 20-30 min drive from me but we don't mind. Prices are reasonable.

Dr. John Hendrickson is an outstanding veterinarian. He once took care of an emergency visit in which our smaller breed of dogs had been attacked and needed life saving emergency surgeries. I have been going back ever since that day with all of my other animals. I highly recommend Wayside veterinary clinic to everyone for all their pet needs. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The prices are great as well as their services.

We have taken our pets to Wayside since I moved to Lafayette nine years ago. We have always had good service, with no problems. This latest issue is one we will never be able to overlook; one of our cats was brought indoors, and we tried to love him like our other five cats. We asked Wayside to declaw him (front paws), so he would not play as hard as the others. The vets recommendation was he was probably about three years old and that he would not do it. Sometime in the next few weeks, one of our rescue cats named Poe was hiding, and afraid to come out. This was a beautiful male cat that had been pulled out of an abandoned car engine by the fire department. He was very shy, and we always worked with this cat to show him love. We noticed injuries on his tail and hind leg, consistant with bite marks. We took Poe to Wayside, and we were given an antibiotic medicine to give to him. After bringing him home, we noticed more injuries on his stomach and back. We had isolated Poe from the other cats, so we knew there were no new injuries caused by our cat Christopher. Poe continued to deteriorate, and finally we took him to Purdue. They suggested we have his tail and hind leg amputated, and that the infection was so severe that he would probably not survive. The decision was made to put him down. I called Wayside to voice my frustration with the care, or lack of care, that Poe received. The vet was in surgery, but I was assured he would get the message. We never received a response back. We will never take our pets to Wayside again. This was heatbreaking enough, but we felt that a personal contact back was warranted, and no one called.
