I have been paying my child support every month and they took more money from me that was supposed to be a reimbursement for my medical premium and they weren't supposed to it was money I paid the premium for my Medicare nothing to do with the child which I am adopting out and haven't seen. And these people won't answer phone now they had no right I don't know what to do

The referee does not listen to mothers and does not have the best interest of the child in mind. Unless you have 2754 different documents with a witness to testify for each one, you don't stand a chance. I submitted PACKETS of cps reports with multiple police reports included and he wouldn't submit them as evidence, but took what my ex claimed into consideration during our hearing instead. (Which everything that came out of his mouth were lies)

After having a cps investigator testify and substantiate domestic violence and child abuse at the hands of my sons dad, after asking my son his preference in person and after months of trying to convince the referee my ex is mentally unstable and hasn't provided stability for my son in over 10 years, he still sided with him and denied my change in custody plea. (Even though almost every category he had to take into consideration was in my favor on his final judgment)

I'm disappointed and now fully convinced this place is just a money sucker. 100 dollars and several weeks of my time wasted, and my son has to be subjected to more domestic violence and child abuse while with his father because this place refuses to listen to him, cps or myself. If you can't afford a lawyer, I'll say it again- you. don't. stand. a chance. Shame on this place for not keeping our children safe and out of harms way.

The friend of the court in this county is absolutely horrible. I have provided multiple police reports and evidence of my daughter being around violence for the last year, as well as trying to modify the order to better suit the father and I's situation and the referee refuses. He does always appear to side with the father who has been kicked out of the friend of the court. He has been bared from multiple business in Cadillac I have shown proof of this. Honestly if you have an option file somewhere else. I could go on with this but after all the comments you get the jist. Good luck to you all.

This office is run horribly. They mess up court dates. Don't mail out information on time until after you need it. They lose paperwork. Incompetent office staff literally no one knows what's going on. Family court is hardvenough without the staff making it ten times worse. I wish I had a choice in the matter because I'd never go here. Just be prepared to have them make things harder for ya and take a Tylenol before dealing with the headache.

I make all my child support payments, me and my son's mother have a good relationship but I live 4 hours away so if I have a hard time paying that month they set a court date every time. Mind you I also cash app my son and his mother money outside of court duties. We had a snow storm last year so I couldn't make a 4 hour trip in a snow storm they put out a warrant for me which cost me more money. This court is sad and makes it hard on good fathers.

This court is a joke and definitely does not have the best interest of the children at hand. The referee needs to be fired, how many children have died or have trauma on his account of leaving them with unfit mothers?

They refuse to fix their phones. The machine cannot be understood at all and not even the operator can hear anything because their service is so awful. I'm having perfect signal right now calling in that general area so it isn't me. I'm just trying to set things up so I can pay child support early but no.

An Update 9/11/18. As of three months later. I have been calling repeatedly every few days since I left this review. I have left voice messages when someone actually mature answers the phone. The woman who heads these cases has since not answered any of my calls or responded to my voice messages. The general staff continues to act like they can't hear me at all aside from the one person so far. My divorce comes up in a few weeks and if I'm stuck paying child support I know who I'm suing for refusal to cooperate.

An update 4/25/2019. They pick up the phone, hold it, then immediately hang up.

If I could give a negative I would. Have delt with this corrupt and bias court for over like 6 years now. Hoped with a new referee finally here in Wexford a Benjamin L. Hicok now in there thing would be better. NOT..Had a phone hearing last week over a child support review to be changed that the ex objected to ofcourse. She won ofcourse and they lied stating that there has been no request for a review.BS. I have filed for support reviews to have it changed due to changes in parenting times and all. But Hicok and family court are so fricking corrupt there is not real justice for the fathers anymore.
