This is how contracted Concessionaire Joy Gould "Gets the attention of her boarders" by endangering their animals.
Keep in mind that this facility does not have fire prevention measures, proper fire extinguishers or labels, Knox box access for the fire department, and no overnight staff.
How can the county turn a blind eye to this? After spending nearly $ 13 million of taxpayers' money on this facility, supervisors Brenda Tovar and Linda Pham have swept Joy Goulds' derelict management under the rug for too long. Animal welfare & safety should be a priority. The reason for this post is to bring awareness to this, as most recently, Joy Gould lied to and used the LA County Animal Control and LA County Sheriffs Department to illegally seize my partners horse from his stall at Whittier Narrows Equestrian Center on Saturday September 2, 2023. The safety and well-being of his horse and all the other horses are in danger under this current concessionare.

I came across this equestrian center while trying to find a place to take my daughter for lessons. I was surprised to find this tucked away and in such good condition. The grounds are very well maintained and the people who have horses there are very friendly.

The facility is well maintained, there are restrooms, water fountain. My daughter is taking horseback riding lessons and loves it.

Beautiful place for a boarding stable. Clean and plenty of trails to ride. If you or your child is interested in riding lessons, check out my good friend, Dede Frame, who owns Urban Horseman. She has a wealth of knowledge and can set you or your child up with a program just for you.

You want harrasment, racial discrimination, and prejudice behavior, boats your horse here. The manager, Joy Gould, makes rules up as she goes, endangers your animal by locking your horse up with a chain and padlock all while taking your money every month. All she cares about is your rent, everything else in her contract is optional like cleaning and feeding and maintenance of the facilities and grounds. Shame to see my tax dollars went to this hoax.

I have been boarding at Whittier narrows for over 20 years and this barn has always been my happy place!!!! There is a person boarding there that is making everyone’s life absolutely miserable and the county won’t do a thing to get rid of him!!! We feel very unsafe and they raised our board $70 a month!!!!

We used to board at a horrible facility! The horses were stressed, the fly population was out of control, not enough turn out areas, they weren’t well fed. As soon as we moved, our mare blossomed. She has been fed correctly since day 1, not covered in flies, she definitely sleeps a lot better. We are so happy to board at such a nice facility and the turn out arenas are awesome! You won’t regret switching!
