Our daughter has been participating with YAP for almost 10 years. From the very beginning, director Don Goodner tailors the experience based on each actor. With his original productions as well as licensed shows, there's something for all interests. Our daughter has been allowed to gain experience in acting, choreographing, sound & lighting, student directing, set building and more. This is a great place for those willing to try it all. Kudos to the nurturing staff!

We love being part of YAP! My daughter has found an activity she loves and made great friends. Classes and production fees are reasonable. We have participated in at least 6 shows and attended many more performances! Definitely worth checking out!

My daughter just started performing with Young Actor’s Playhouse and she has truly found her niche. Her eyes light up on her way to rehearsal and she is even more energized when I pick her up from practice. Currently she is attending rehearsals or classes 5 days per week and she just loves it. Pricing is very fair and I’ve never felt pressured. The owner does a wonderful job working with the kids to bring out the best in each student. What a fantastic group of which to be a part.

Though I was only with YAP for a year it was a wonderful experience full of growth and leadership opportunities. Don can come across as harsh during rehearsals, but only with the oldest of students who he wants and believes will be successful in the business and is very patient with the younger kids and teaches them very well. Meredith and Alex are both wonderfully talented performers and will make you smile no matter how hard of a day you’ve had. Mr. Greg is the sweetest soul and always offers the best hugs ever.

I without a doubt enjoyed my time during Frozen and helping with The Jungle Book, and even though Bring It On was difficult without a libretto I was able to become a much more well rounded artist as I received a lot of dance training and was given a leadership role as a section leader.

I would highly recommend giving YAP a chance no matter what reviews say as there are opportunities for every age. Everyone has their own needs as growing artists and you don’t know what fits until you try different things.

Perfect place for your youngster to learn about acting, singing, and some dancing. YAP produces the best youth musicals I have seen. It is the largest youth theater in Georgia. Wonderful directors, vocal instructors and choreographers. Some plays are originally written by a co-founder, some are Disney Junior, some are based on children's book series. Every show I have seen is very well rehearsed and staged in fun ways. Great family entertainment.

Kids love being in the shows. Picks good shows, songs. The kids learn a lot about confidence and the arts.

The sound mixing at his elementary school shows is always terrible. I’ve seen seven shows over the years, some kids are amplified to unintelligible, deafening levels, while some kids are barely a whisper. This happens no matter the venue, so it can’t be the equipment. Get on your game!

A couple other notes. He loves to schedule shows on Mother’s Day weekend.
He loves to schedule tech rehearsals far from the kids normal school , and at rush hour to boot.
Lastly, he pushes the fan-o-grams excessively, saying the kids love and need them. Really it’s just a money maker for him. If they were that important to the kids, make them free.
